Pain physicians are devoted to managing acute and chronic pain conditions which need an in-depth understanding and knowledge of evaluating a pain patient, appropriate assessment, and quantification of pain and judicious selection of treatment modalities. Most of the Interventional Pain Therapies are done under radiological guidance in the operation theatre under local anesthesia on day-care basis and total cost is much less and is very safe compared to surgery This specialty has recently emerged as a rapidly developing specialty in our country, though it has shown its presence in USA and UK for over 30 years.
